| May Gurney takes £85m waste deal |
May Gurney has been awarded an £85m waste scheme for North Somerset Council.
The 7-year contracts will start in March 2010 and will include recycling, waste collection, and the management of the Household Waste Recycling Centres for over 204,000 residents in North Somerset.
The contracts will be given a possible further 7 years extension.
Philip Fellowes-Prynne, chief executive of May Gurney, commented: "We are delighted to have been selected as preferred bidder by North Somerset Council for this significant long-term contract for the delivery of essential front-line services."
