Morrison awarded Fort William Sports Centre contract

Morrison Construction, part of Galliford Try has been awarded a £4.6m contract with The Highland Council to redevelop the sports facilities at Lochaber High School, in Fort William.

The three-phase development will involve the construction of a new sports wing, including a four-court sports hall, gymnasium, fitness suite, drama studio and new changing rooms.

As part of the development, a separate entrance to the complex will be created which will include landscaping. An additional performance venue area will be constructed and designed in consultation with pupils of the school.

The building has been designed to use low carbon technology for heating and ventilation and is set to open in October 2010.
