Oelheld Release New Steel Cutting Oil

Sulfol LCD is the latest in Oelheld's range of high performance neat oil cutting fluids. It is derived from low aromatic, solvent refined base oils and can be used with both ferrous and non-ferrous metals. Examples of the ferrous metals are steel alloys (light to medium machined) and cast iron, whilst non ferrous metals include magnesium alloys and aluminium.

Benefits of using the new oil range include great aging stability and tremendous viscosity-temperature performance. The oil is also chlorine free, which means that disposal and/or recycling should not pose a problem. It also offers wetting, cooling and lubricating properties which serve to give high levels of surface finish quality on components and extended tool life.

Sulfol LCD is now available to cater for a large range of viscosity and density specifications to suit a multitude of high speed machining applications. These include broaching, gear cutting, thread grinding, milling, turning and gear grinding with a variety of metals including steel and aluminium.

Oelheld, based in Stuttgart, Germany, trade their products worldwide. Their UK branch is located in Denbigh, Wales. Trading since 1887, the founder Karl Christian Held initially listed the first trademark, 'STANDARDOIL' in 1888. With consistent business, the company flourished even after a setback in 1944 when their company buildings were totally destroyed, a casualty of the Second World War. In 1948, the plant was rebuilt and has been growing ever since. The UK office was established in 1998, on the heels of the company achieving certification DIN ISO 9001; the guarantee of a reliable standard regarding the quality of the products and services supplied.

Today, Oelheld continue to flourish, supplying their ranges of lubricants and oils worldwide to cut various metals including steel. They also offer bespoke products to meet individual needs if required. Their success stories include boosting grinding machine efficiencies by 200%.
