Billington awarded £3.1m steel contract for Cafe Royal

Billington has been awarded the £3.1m contract to supply steel for the £70m redevelopment of the Cafe Royal in London's Piccadilly.

The contract will require 1,200 tonnes of structural steel to strengthen the building, and the installation of new floors. Mace is currently converting the building into a five-star 160-bed luxury hotel.

Mike Fewster, chief operations officer at Billington Holdings commented: "We are delighted to have won the contract for the redevelopment of Cafe Royal. This contract win is on the back of successful work with Mace Group and the strong relationship we have developed with the company."
