| Olympic broadcast centre structure completed |
The steel structure for the 2012 Olympics International Broadcast centre has been completed.
The 4,500 tonne frame, which is 275m long, 104m wide and 21m tall took 10 weeks to complete.
Along with the main press centre, the IBC will support 20,000 broadcasters, journalists and photographers during the games. In legacy, the facilities will create just under 900,000 sq ft of business space.
The foundations of the MPC are 50% complete and due to be complete by this autumn.
Olympic Delivery Authority Chairman John Armitt commented: "The big build is on track, with construction underway on all permanant venues."
