Honeywell Security Release Viewguard

Honeywell Security Release Viewguard

Honeywell Security and Communications, based in Lanarkshire, have announced the launch of the latest product in their line of motion sensors.

Viewguard is a high quality mirror optic range, combining reliability with exceptional detection performance. With superb signal strength and its easy to use plug-in concept, it offers maximum protection for both people and business assets. It has been developed to protect those in need of highest need of security, including banks, jewellers and museums. The inbuilt infrared and microwave signal processing technology serves to minimise interruptions that could be inconvenient as well as significantly reduce false alarms whilst ensuring building security is paramount.

Viewguard does not require much wiring space, therefore making it more attractive to those who consider the aesthetics of their building. As well as offering less false alarms, it uses minimal current consumption to reduce electricity bills. Farshid Ossereh, representative of Honeywell, stated that, "with this solution, we are offering end-users that extra level of protection to give them total peace of mind...."

Viewguard works by using multi-level alarm thresholds that can identify an intrusion accurately. It only triggers the alarm when the detection signal is strong, which serves to reduce the false alarm rate. It also employs anti-masking technology; two active infrared circuits work in conjuction to detect the blocking of the sensor at close range and protecting the lens from any covering, spraying or taping. An alarm is activated if either of these are disrupted which will alert the security risk at the location of the sensor.

Honeywell began trading in 1885 and now employ people in more than 100 countries. Only one division of Honeywell International, Honeywell Security is continually evolving their technologies to keep in line with ever increasing threats, and with experienced end users. Other areas Honeywell trade in are video systems and access systems; they are continually striving to provide an ultimate security solution for the user.
