Paxton Access Ltd Launch the Easyprox Compact Keypad
Paxton Access, based in Brighton, has been established as a leading manufacturer of electronic access security control systems since 1985. The latest product to grace their line up, the Easyprox Compact Keypad, is the result of over twenty years dedicated research and development.
The Easyprox is an all-in-one access system, ideal for internal security doors. It is battery powered and works by entering a PIN or code on the keypad to unlock the door. It can be used with dedicated tokens/cards as well as a code, or just the code on its own. The inbuilt memory can hold up to 50 different codes, all of which must be between 4-8 digits long. It also has an anti-shim plunger to prevent forced entry. The fact the system does not have to be wired into a main power supply means it is easy to install as well as being easy to uninstall should it need to be moved. This also means that internal doors that were previously seen as too inconvenient to secure can now be secured using this system.
Ideal locations for this device include retail environments, where security is needed for 'staff only' areas, as well as buildings such as schools, cupboards where cleaning or other chemicals are stored and sports halls where it is important that equipment is kept away from children.
The Easyprox Compact Keypad has a proximity counterpart, the Easyprox Compact. This is a device that works in much the same way as the Easyprox Compact Keypad, except users are required to have tokens to operate the door instead of codes. Paxton's Sales and Marketing Director, Adam Stroud, has stated that, “In theory it’s even better value than its proximity forerunner because users don’t require tokens. I can’t think of a more convenient way of implementing internal access control. The system can be installed, and in use in under two hours."
Paxton Access benefits all of their products with a 5-year guarantee and aim to produce systems that provide an all-in-one access security solution. Installation and tutorials can be found on their website at http://www.paxton.co.uk as well as from their technical support helpdesk which is available via Skype, email and telephone from 7am to 7pm Monday-Friday, and 9am-1pm on Saturdays. Paxton's latest case studies involve providing their Net2 networked access control system to Tsukuba University (Japan) in February 2009, and the same to Conquest Hospital, Essex, in October 2008.
