NASC accreditation needed for all Sisk scaffold contractors

John Sisk & Son Ltd has announced that scaffolding contractors on all of its UK projects must be members of the National Access and Scaffolding Confederation (NASC).

John Sisk has made this decision to reinforce its best practice approach to health and safety on its construction sites, and further improve its already impressive incident records.

The announcement comes only weeks after Sisk and Sisk Rail won RoSPA Gold awards at RoSPA’s 2009 Occupational Health and Safety Awards. Combined, the NASC accreditation and the RoSPA Gold award reaffirms that health and safety is at the forefront of Sisk’s operation.

Access and scaffolding is a major part of Sisk’s construction projects and the NASC requires member organisations to abide by a strict code of conduct to improve on-site practice.

With almost 200 member companies, who account for over 75% of the UK’s total spend on scaffolding, it is one of the largest associations linked to the building and construction industry.
