Eco Roofing Services Donates 5000 TreesTo Haiti In The Earthquake Damaged Zones Through United Nations Environmental Partner 'Green Earth Appeal'
Ash Vale Company Makes Considerable Green Donation To Rebuild Damaged Areas
Eco Roofing Services based in Ash Vale, Surrey has joined up with the Green Earth Appeal, part of the United Nations Environmental Programme, offering companies the opportunity to help negate the carbon buildup in the atmosphere.
The Green Earth Appeal has been working with the communities in areas hit by the earthquake in January 2010 in Haiti, helping to rebuild the land affected by planting trees, which will offer a long term sustainable food source and offer hope to the community.The Green Earth Appeal acts as a portal for businesses to make a contribution, which is used to fund trees being planted and cared for in the poorest areas of Africa, Asia and Latin America and also helps to educate the workers in these areas who will be tending to the land.
Mr Satinder Singh, Director of Communication at the United Nations Environmental Programme stated “ On the opening day of the United Nations Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen, we are happy to welcome The Green Earth Appeal as a partner to the Billion Tree Campaign. Trees are a legacy for future generations”
The team who donated the money at Eco Roofing, headed by Managing Director Kevin Nelson, stated,
“Donating and planting trees in Haiti was an easy contribution to make after the recent earthquake. While many forms of aid are needed, working with the Green Roof Appeal a United Nations partner, we felt this donation would help in the long term rebuilding of the country. The 5000 trees we donated to rural communities in Haiti will provide work and food, while helping offset the excessive amounts of carbon in the atmosphere. Eco Roofing Services was privileged to be given this opportunity to help.”
