UK Sustainable Construction Requirements will crack down on Blackpools low carbon social housing development this month.
The eight three-bedroomed semi-detached properties for Great Places Housing Group on the Mereside estate will be built with super-efficient cladding, rendering, windows and doors. Additionally, they will also have photovoltaic solar panels built into the roofs in a bid to reduce electricity bills.
Great Places director of housing services Guy Cresswell said: “We’re delighted to be developing such fantastic new homes. They’ll look great, with contemporary design, and perform brilliantly thanks to their eco-credentials. “They’ll be affordable to rent and run, and allocated to new residents before they are finished, so the people who move in get a say on final specification and finish.”
