| Highways Agency launches £2bn Motorway Framework |
The Highways Agency has released details of its £2bn nationwide managed motorways programme, designed to enhance the capacity of the country's roads and motorways.
It is estimated that £2bn will be spent over the four-year scheme.
Bids are now being returned for the project and a framework of three-four contractors will be chosen to carry out the work across the country. The framework contract will involve the installation, testing and commissioning of hard shoulder running schemes and road improvements to junctions and adjacent trunk roads. It includes the construction of gantries, modifications to existing structures and installation.
