Morgan Est has started piling works on a "217m contract to build a public services hub called the Wigan Life Centre, which is being constructed by Morgan Est's sister company Morgan Ashurst.

The piling works includes the installation of continuous flight auger piles with a diameter of 750 millimetres and drilled hollow bar micro piles for bearing piles with a diameter of 170 millimetres.

The centre, which will be situated in the town centre, will include a new swimming pool, central library and a contact centre for the council when completed in December 2011.
