Work to start on Silicon tower

Mount Anvil is developing a £160m scheme in association with national housing provider Affinity Sutton for the new build of a 36-storey residential tower near east London’s ‘Silicon Roundabout’ hi-tech hub.

The Silicon Tower, which will be Islington’s tallest tower, has been designed by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill Architects and is scheduled to undergo construction in April. Work is expected to last until July 2016 and will be provide 307 apartments.

Chief Executive of Mount Anvil, Killian Hurley said, “We aim to capture all the excitement and buzz surrounding the business and people working and investing in Silicon Roundabout.
“Our scheme will reflect this energy and creativity through bold, innovative design. We are confident that the penthouses will be selling at £1,500 per sq ft, setting new price levels for high-rise living in the area.”

The development forms part of the City Road Basin Masterplan, which will regenerate the former industrial land surround Regent’s Canal in the south-eastern part of Islington.
