Hard Hat Safety Buzzer Takes Off

Many major contractors are starting to use a new safety precaution called MyZone. The system works by installing an alarm in hard hats which is set off if the worker wearing it gets too close to potential dangers on site.

Belfour Beatty, Carillion, BAM Nuttall, Skanska, Laing O’Rourke and John Henry are amongst contractors already using MyZone on some of their sites. The system is also being trialled for the rail sector.

Drew Murray, C.O.O. of MyZone manufacturer TI Global said “This is such a simple concept but one that requires complex technology and large investment in R&D.

“This added funding is particularly welcome at a time when some of the most influential companies in the construction and rail industries are adopting MyZone as an addition to their PPE to address one of the biggest safety concerns on any site.”
