Tesco Stores has awarded Vinci Construction UK a £46m contract to build a large complex in the heart of West Bromwich. The project comprises of the design and construction of the new retail and leisure development.
Vinci Construction UK’s Midlands Building Division will undertake the scheme which involves the demolition of existing buildings followed by the building of a new Tesco Extra Store and 43 new retail and leisure units with partially covered walkways.
A new road linkway, a cinema and other support buildings and infrastructure are other aspects which will be added to the complex.
Chris Pape, managing director of the building division in Midlands, South West, Wales and retail said: “This is a fantastic project to be undertaken by VINCI Construction UK, we are looking forward to rising to the challenge of providing a world class shopping and leisure facility for the people of West Bromwich to enjoy.
We will be working in partnership with Tesco Stores Limited to ensure that all works are completed to the highest standard.”
