Kier awarded £40m four-year maintenance framework contract

Kier Facilities Services (KFS) has been awarded a four-year maintenance framework contract with Surrey County Council worth in the region of £40m.

KFS will perform improvement works and round-the-clock maintenance cover for more than 900 buildings. The framework agreement includes mechanical, electrical and buildings fabric work, as well as emergency call-outs, covering schools and educational buildings, council offices, community buildings, leisure centres, emergency services, libraries and museums.

KFS operations director Rob Baker said: “As well as extending the geographic spread of our capabilities, this agreement strengthens our commitment to providing high levels of service to local authorities in the southern region. It is also a significant boost for our locally-based workforce and contractors, securing further work at a critical time for the construction industry.”
