Willmott Dixon has been awarded a £32m contract to build the Ark Academy in Brent.

The academy, which has been designed by Studio E architects and is close to Wembley Stadium, will house infant, junior and secondary schools as well as sports facilities for 1,600 pupils on a single site.

It will use geothermal pumps for heating and will also have solar panels for hot water. Other sustainable features include rainwater harvesting and a sedum roof.

The academy will have a phased opening from September 2010 ready for the new academic year.
