Wavin’s New Covers and Frames

Wavin is a well known company which supplies plastic drainage and water management systems, as well as relevant accessories to these. Their products are widely used as a part of groundwork in the building and construction industry. The new range of polypropylene covers and frames are light weight, and easy and safe to handle at groundwork and other sites. Both practical and economical, polypropylene is widely used as it has a high tensile strength, is stiff and is inert to the majority of acids, alkalis and solvents. Wavin’s new product allows for a variety of applications to give access to underground drainage systems, they can be used with either universal or non entry inspection chambers. All have a non slip finish and provide an excellent base for tarmac, block paving and other surfacing materials.

In more detail, the systems all have a dual fixing system, which allows for the frame to be fixed to the shaft, and the cover to be fixed to the frame. A choice of access diameters are available, to suit many groundwork needs. Models 4D927 (round) and 4D920(square) can withstand 15kN when unsupported. When supported by a concrete plinth, 4D920 can bear up to 50kN, which is an impressive five Tonnes. The new system of covers and frames aims to be reliable, practical and to have a number of applications.
