| Geberit on Centre Court |
The market leaders in the supply of bathroom and drainage systems - Geberit, has provided a highly efficient solution for Wimbledon's new centre court roof.
The Geberit Pluvia Siphonic rain water system was specified to remove large amounts of water from the roof. The join between the stadium and the new retractable roof presented problems with the movement of the pipeworl and guttering so Geberit were called in to design a suitable solution.
The Geberit Pluvia system is based on a gravity induced vacuum principle to create a siphonic action, which allows the complete drainage of a roof with smaller diameter pipes than used in a conventional system. This provides greater architectural flexibility and less site work due to the reduction in pipes and fittings.
The successful installation of the centre court system was in keeping with the standards and expectations of the All England Lawn Tennis Club and Galliford Try, the main contractor.
