Bond Bryan unveils Sheffield Hallam university design

Bond Bryan Architects has been chosen by Sheffield Hallam University to design a £25m building in the city’s cultural industries quarter.

The 9,500m2 building, which will house the for the faculty of development and society, will have semi-transparent walls.

Matt Hutton, Bond Bryan associate, commented: “The need for the building to become a landmark within the city led us to developing a vibrant design concept that will radiate across the cityscape. Using translucent wall elements means that the building will shine and be seen across the city’s night skyline."

The building, designed to encourage collaborative work and learning, will be completed in 2012.
