Vinci construction has been awarded a £6.1m contract with Wirral University Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.

The contract will include the demolition of the existing building with the new build of a single storey decontamination unit and surgical admissions lounge.

The decontamination unit will contain plant and equipment for storing used surgical equipment, which will be sterilised and repacked.

The building will be built to accommodate two further floors in the future.

Vinci will also fit-out 60 bath and shower rooms over three floors of the main hospital.
