R&D Construction has been awarded the contract to build 542 new houses and flats in the south west of Scotland having won a £37.5m deal with Dumfries & Galloway Housing Partnership.

The project involves the demolition of 373 houses and flats located over two sites in Dumfries and one in Stranraer. R&D Construction will then build a further 542 houses and flats on these sites and additional greenfield sites.

The work is due to take three years to complete.
