Sir Robert McAlpine, Skanska, Laing O’Rourke and Miller Construction are working up bids for a £100m office scheme in Brighton for American Express.

The office complex, known as Amex House, will be constructed on the car park site of the present American Express building in Mighell Street. Demolition work will be required as part of the contract.

Tenders are due back in October and work on site is expected to begin early 2010.
