| Nine firms win £101m Stockport street scene scheme |
Nine firms have been awarded contracts as part of Stockport Metropolitan Borough Council's £101 million street scene services project. The work is split into 12 lots covering road maintenance and engineering over a five-year period.
G Cox & Sons have been awarded the biggest contract worth £25 million for minor civil engineering works.
Galliford Try Infrastructure won two of the contracts and will carry out road lining and anti-skid surfacing worth £2.1 million and £1.25 million. Tarmac have also won the carriageway surfacing contratct worth £21 million and DCT Civil Engineering were awarded the £12.5 million major highway improvements package.
Work is due to start in April 2010 and will run for five years.
