Morrison Construction has been named as preferred bidder for two civil engineering frameworks worth £16m by Rhondda Cynon Taff council in south Wales.

The larger of the two packages is estimated to be valued at around £3m a year for four years with a potential two-year extension, and will include junction works, park and ride schemes, town centre re-paving, bridge repairs and refurbishments, and traffic calming schemes.

The other package is worth £1m a year over the same term and will include surfacing works.
