Skanska has been awarded a £150 million contract by the Ministry of Defence to design and build a secure facility at RAF Wyton in Cambridgeshire.

The new facility will include main technical buildings, three squadron blocks for 42 Engineer Regiment, and all associated supporting buildings, recreational facilities and external areas. Skanska will also be responsible for the architectural, structural and civil design, as well as the mechanical and electrical management and installation of the buildings.

Construction is set to begin in July 2009 with completion set for late 2011. The remaining buildings will be completed by autumn 2013.
