Four chasing 67m Glasgow housing deal

Four chasing £67m Glasgow housing deal

Four firms are waiting to hear which one of them has been awarded an estimated £67m housing deal in Glasgow.

The line-up is Cruden Building & Renewal, Wates Living Space, Ayrshire-based Ashleigh and Campbell Construction Group (CCG).

The job is divided into seven packages of work, and the scheme involves building 546 new units in the Anderston area of Glasgow.

A few family houses will be built but the project, which also involves building two offices for local housing associations, will mainly concentrate on flats.

The scheme will also involve the demolition of 495 Sixites-built flats on the site, but this will be classed as a separate contract. Work on the new build scheme is due to start in May and run from 5 - 7 years.
